About TPM

Who we are:

“From Carolyn Gray’s The Elmwood Visitation to Dale Lakevolds’s affecting Stretching Hide, Theatre Projects Manitoba has in recent years given us some of the best, most energizing theatre in Winnipeg” —Kenton Smith, Uptown

We are the seed company:

“its production history reads like a who’s who of Winnipeg theatre.” —Kevin Prokosh, Winnipeg Free Press

Committed to the cultivation of Manitoba plays and artists, in the past 24 years, we have staged more than 50 new Manitoba works. We develop the voices of our region, choosing stories that have a connection to our community, our history and culture and grow these new creations with passionate support.

Seed Saving:

Many of TPM’s Manitoba Premieres have been captured for future plantings: since 2005, our productions of Stretching Hide, The Elmwood Visitation, Encore, North Main Gothic and The Moonlight Sonata of Beethoven Blatz have all become published plays!

Wildflowers:

We are also committed to stirring artists and audiences with inventive and groundbreaking theatre. Artists like Linda Griffiths, R M Vaughn, Daniel David Moses and Carole Fréchette are intrepid explorers of performance, style & image and all received their Manitoba Premieres with TPM.

We’re on the wind:

As a theatre at large, we use a variety of venues—check the individual show information for performance locations.
