Company in Residence – 16/17 Season
MAKE/ SHIFT Theatre
MAKE/ SHIFT Theatre are back with us for another season!
Born in 2013 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Make/Shift Theatre is a company dedicated to devising original work, cultivated from source materials outside the realm of what we know as theatre. The aim? To share what inspires them: through new lenses, within new parameters, and revealed as a new medium. From Russian short stories to neo-soul records, no idea is too big for this little company. For Make/Shift, if it can be one thing, it can be anything.
Make/Shift’s projects typically begin with the selection of a concept or piece that exists outside the realm of theatre. By deconstructing the selected work into its essentials, Make/Shift creates a departure point for research and exploration, ultimately leading to a new and original show, ready for the stage. The diving board this season? HG Wells’ novella The Time Machine. Stay tuned to see where time takes them!

Hot off the heels of this summer’s Fringe hit Lantern Town, Brittany can’t wait to get back in the studio with Liam and Kristian to delve deeper into their next Make/Shift project, The Time Machine.
