A new play commissioned by Theatre Projects Manitoba, Five Moments is a thrilling hybrid of domestic fabulism, time travel, and story theatre.
Phoebe and Jack are married. They have been very happy. They have had their sorrows. Phoebe and Jack have a time machine. And they are re-evaluating spending the rest of their lives together.

Rick Chafe
(Playwright)
Five Moments is Rick’s third play for Theatre Projects after co-writing last season’s TPM/One Trunk Theatre presentation multi-media sci-fi graphic novel for stage, Red Earth, as well as The Last Man and Woman on Earth. Rick’s plays have been produced across the country, including Strike! co-written with Danny Schur (Rainbow Stage), Marriage: A Demolition in Two Acts and The Secret Mask (PTE), Shakespeare’s Dog (RMTC/NAC), The Odyssey (SIR) and Beowulf (Two Planks and a Passion).
Ardith Boxall
(Director)
Ardith is a graduate of the University of Winnipeg, Ardith is an actor, director and the Artistic Director of Theatre Projects Manitoba. Directing credits at TPM include Dragonfly, Beautiful Man, Iceland, Proud, John and Beatrice, The Monster Trilogy and Linda Griffith’s Age of Arousal. At Prairie Theatre Exchange; Prairie Nurse, Short Shots. At the U of W; Our Country’s Good.
She has performed with Prairie Theatre Exchange, Manitoba Theatre for Young People, Theatre Projects Manitoba, Adhere and Deny, and the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre. Selected acting credits include Three Sisters with zone 41/TPM, Shakespeare’s Dog at the RMTC/National Arts Centre, Zaidie’s Shoes and The Norbals at Prairie Theatre Exchange, and a tour of Sarah Cane’s Crave with English Suitcase. Ardith won a Blizzard Award in 2004 for her performance in Jeffrey Erbach’s feature film, The Nature of Nicholas.
In 2009, Ardith was nominated by her peers for the Making a Mark Award which applauds established artists who are receiving critical recognition for excellence in their art practice in Winnipeg and beyond. In 2019 Theatre Projects Manitoba was awarded the Connecting Creative Communities Prize by the Manitoba Arts Council for the Interlake Chautauqua Tour – a unique rural engagement project created by Ardith and Associate Artistic Director Andraea Sartison.
Andraea Sartison
(Production Dramaturg)
is a theatre artist and event producer in Winnipeg, MB. She is the Artistic Associate of Theatre Projects Manitoba, a company that has been home to her and some of the work she is most proud of- Red Earth, A Short History of Crazy Bone and I Dream of Diesel. With TPM, and Ardith especially, Andraea helped bring to life This Land Floods-the Interlake Chautauqua Tour which was awarded the Manitoba Connecting Creative Communities Prize in 2019. Andraea is also the founding Artistic Producer of One Trunk Theatre where she has captained the creation of 13 original productions and one festival, since the company’s inception. She is Co-Leader of Manitoba Theatre for Young People’s Creators Unit (with Rick Chafe!), and Co-Owner of Event Production and Arts Consultation Company Fête Jockey (with Jennie O!).

Sarah Constible
(Phoebe)
Sarah is an actor, writer, and director living in Winnipeg. Previous shows with TPM include Dragonfly, Mary’s Wedding, Reservations, Beautiful Man, The Monster Trilogy, Murder Ballads, and Dionysus in Stony Mountain. Other Credits (selected): Doll’s House 2 (Segal Centre); Timon of Athens, Richard III, Henry V (SIR); Di and Viv and Rose, After Miss Julie (RMTC); The Swearing Jar (PTE); Ivanov (WJT); Am I Not King? (Zone 41). Sarah is a member of the Fu Fu Chi Chi Choir.
Zoë Leclerc-Kennedy
(Stage Manager)
Zoë is excited to be working with Theatre Projects Manitoba for the first time! Zoë has worked on Stage Management Teams for Royal MTC, Sarasvàti Productions, MTYP, and Manitoba Opera. She has also built props for Royal MTC, Sarasvàti and was the Head of Props at Watermark Theatre in PEI this past summer, the Props Apprentice at the Grand Theatre in London ON for the 2018/19 season and a Prop Building Practicum Participant at the Banff Centre in summer 2018. Zoë is a proud graduate of the University of Winnipeg Theatre Production program.
Daina Leitold
(Set Design)
Though she is one of the least tech-savvy persons around, Daina has delighted in creating a new world with new technology for this new play. This is her second design opportunity with TPM; she is the proud recipient of an Evie Award for her part in the production design of last year’s epic production of Red Earth. Her favourite set design work includes: Red Earth (One Trunk / Theatre Projects Manitoba), Edward II and Bull (Theatre by the River), The Cherry Orchard (Theatre by the River / Echo Theatre), Wild Wild Wilderness (Green Kids Inc.), and Etoile (a KDSZ show). Daina would like to thank Karl for their Happy Marriage.
Brenda McLean
(Costume Design)
Brenda is excited to be working for the first time with Theatre Projects on this new work! Brenda is an independent theatre artist working mainly as a Designer and Director. Recently, Brenda Costume Designed “Third Color” at PTE and “Three Penny Opera” with Sick and Twisted. Recent Directing credits include the upcoming “Othello” for Shakespearefest and previously “The Adventures of Butt Boy and Tigger” for PrideFest 2019. Brenda is the teacher director for the Adult Company at PTE they will be presenting “Stupid F##cking Bird” in May at the Colin Jackson Studio.
Steven Vande Vyvere
(Production Manager)
Steven has been working behind the scenes in the Winnipeg theatre community since 2008. When he is not working with the many amazing theatre companies this city has to offer, he can be found in the Carpentry shop at Prairie Theatre Exchange. Steven is delighted to be working once again with Theatre Projects Manitoba. Some recent notable credits include The Miser of Middlegate (TPM/ Zone 41), Edward II (TBTR), Angels in America: Perestroika (WJT), and Timon of Athens (SIR).
Jaymez
(Lighting and Sound Design)
With a multi-faceted and distinct visual style, jaymez has worked in the visual art, dance, theatre and music communities. His
lighting, video and sound work has appeared in a number of international festivals, theatrical and dance productions and he has performed live video alongside dozens of musicians and artists and he has created lighting, video and sound designs for a wide and diverse range of companies and choreographers. His work has been featured in a number of cities including Stratford, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon, Calgary, Montreal, Toronto, Edinburgh, London, Osnabrück, Germany and, Utrecht, Netherlands. In 2018 and 2019 he co-won the Winnipeg Theatre Award for outstanding design for his lighting and sound work.
jaymez currently sits on the board of Video Pool Media Arts Centre and holds a BFA in Video from the University of Manitoba.
